Happy Thanksgiving

Well, the parents are driving up and the spouse had a wierd dream last night about being attacked by mean, relentless skunks. The turkey will be tasty. More wine?

Have a good one everybody. Lady Syc- You'll have to report on any homemade sweetpotato pie appearances.

:)

I wound up sleeping all of last night, so I couldn't run out and get any of the ingredients for the pie.

The store opens at 7 this morning though, so she's not out of the woods yet. :)

What the hell?!

I enjoy watching Philadelphia's Thanksgiving Day parade, but why do they always have "old" stars performing?

I don't remember last year's, but in 2000, they had The Trammps. This year, it's Sister Sledge. I mean, shit...who's next? Teddy Pendergrass?

Is it the Philadelphia factor (as I believe the former 2 are from the area)? It's not that I don't like old school music, but they could have gotten a more contemporary performer, like Jill Scott or Musiq...or even Pink. *gasp!* Oh shit...Debbie (or Deborah as she now goes by) Gibson is on too...*shakes his head*

Or...is it a conspiracy between 6ABC (whose news looks like it's straight out of 1979) and the parade committee?

Hmmm...

Being a picky eater, I must say that Thanksgiving is not my kind of holiday. Still, I must say I was a little unnerved at the disrespect towards Thanksgiving when I was sitting in Barnes and Noble reading a book last night, and they were playing christmas music. It was the day before thanksgiving, and they were playing christmas music. Damn, I guess because we're not good consumers on this holiday, it's not deemed very important to the non-food selling corporations.

Yeah! They should've been playing THANKSGIVING music... oh, wait.

(I'm used to it. Half the stores around here start putting Xmas stuff out shortly after Labor Day, or so it seems.)

One of the radio stations here has been playing nothing but Xmas music for a week now...I believe it's Sunny 104.5.

I have a few others to look into, might as well go there too. You think there might be a JFK or OKC link here? ;)

Every good conspiracy must involve Jimmy Hoffa and the Grassy Knoll. :)
