There ought to be a better way....
to secure a toilet to the floor/flange/waste pipe. The whole wax ring, bolts that have to fed up through holes in the toilet system sucks.
|
they can send a man to the moon...
The way the seats attach isn't much better. You have to have Edward Plierhands to get in there. |

Waste goes out the back in the UK. Totally different fixings. We were somewhat surprised the first time we had to deal with this here. Wax? Seems like something they might have used on the ark! We used those wax-free jobbies, seem to have done the trick so far.....

I recently re-tiled my bathroom, which made the floor almost an inch thicker. At the hardware store they told me to stack two wax rings to fill the gap. It's like putting a second o-ring on the space shuttle.
I'm awaiting calamity. |
ok. i got this. wait a minute. ok. been drinkin' since off work. err well got home but the system works well. what problem are you having? me be cornfused.
|
I would help with my plierhands but some meanie is making me fix his ductwork.

you sure do paint a picture, HLJ.

HLJ there is a Kit you can get at Lowes for that there are 1/8" 1/4" and i think like 3/8" spacers , gaskets and all
you line up the spacer with the old ring , drive a screw Thru the Old pvc ring raiseing the new ring up to floor height , then install as per normal https://set-rite.3dcartstores.com/ http://www.ehow.com/how_6107135_inst...er-flange.html |
Thanks. I'll keep that in mind if it starts leaking.
