Very upset about my wardrobe...
Hi. I have another problem, aside from the ones I already have. But this problem is not an emotional issues like all the other ones I have. As you know, I do not have a job. I do have the promise of an interview, but I don't have nice enough clothing to wear. Most of the clothing I have is from thrift stores and sample sales.
Most of my jewerly was bought at street fairs. I have a lot of rings, earings, and neclaces...all in the $10-$15 dollar range. Most of it is silver pewter. So what I am going to wear to the interview?? I have a girlfriend that may lend me some jewerly, and even offered to loan me some clothing, but I am very petite,...so it will not fit. I feel like such a 'rag picker.' And the interview is shortly approaching. Can anyone offer suggestions?? Thank you, Pam. |
We have a thing here in Dayton called Clothes That Work - I'm sure Queens has something similar. It's a clothing place where women can get an entire work-ready/interview-ready wardrobe. It's free.

the webmaster, Mr. Undertoad, verifying where I live. I will try your suggestion. I need a miracle. Isn't Dayton in Ohio?? I've never really traveled much out of the North East, but I think you are there. How have the other posters here treated you?? I woke up this morning and saw what some people were saying about me. I'll admit, it did hurt a bit... Your friend, Pam |
I don't know how it is shopping for women's clothing at thrift stores, but my entire wardrobe of men's professional clothes were purchased at thrift stores. I don't pay retail price for anything. I've been able to gradually build up a very nice set of slacks, button-up shirts, and v-neck sweaters. All name brands and in good condition. I bought a pair of brand-new dress shoes for $12.50.
Maybe we have better thrift stores in Texas? |
what is the job?

Brianna gave me a good suggestion, so I am checking into it. After all, this is NY. Have you ever been here? I have been to TX one time. Everyone is very pleasant and nice. Although I am freightened by people walking around with guns. That is not allowed here. My medication was not balanced last night, so I was very upset, but doing a bit better today. And I appreciate your response. Your friend, Pam. |

I am poor, yet would be selling very nice clothing to rich people. It's a very well known store on 5th Avenue. Aside from clothing, my hair is a mess, and I am not that attractive. The only reason I am getting this interview is because of a friend. I know that is the reason... Sadly, Pam. |
go in with torn stuff and bed head. shabby chic.

to get along here, despite our opinions and circumstances... I do not think Mr. Undertoad would appreciate mean comments such as yours on his website. I think you are a very angry person. |

I am very stressed about my clothing for the interview. I also have a problem with my landlord. He is mean to me, and does not turn on the heat all winter. I pray for spring. I am so cold right now... I am going to have some wine... Pam. |
