Photos from Paris from my January trip

Been awhile since I was at the Cellar so today is sort of a catch up day. The Mrs. and I went to Paris last January. Not the best time because it is cold but at least there were no lines for attractions or getting into restaurants. Anyway we were just there for 4 days. Here are some shots..

I should note that the very first shot was taken of me by a friend in the summer of 1975. We were backpacking in England and France and he caught me leaving the wine shop with some beverages to go with our dinner of bread and cheese. I recreated the shot on this trip with the help of my wife, passing by Parisians thought we were a bit daffy!

We toured the Louvre because my wife wanted to see the Mona Lisa, this is my version of what everyone goes to take a picture of.

My wife used some Hilton certificates for free lodging so the hotel near the Arch de Triumphe was free. She stretched it a bit by telling them we were celebrating our wedding anniversary (from November) there. They surprised us with fresh flowers, cake and champagne. They also gave us a prime room with a view of the Eiffel Tower. :D

I made my wife get up before dawn on Saturday instead of sleeping in, and we went to a big open air market to take pictures. Can't believe what they put out for a one day street market!!!

They had a large ice skating rink set up and a beautiful old carousel. It was the only really sunny day we had!

Awesome!

That black and white shot of the ferris wheel really brings to mind a movie I saw a few years back...unfortunately I cant remember much of the movie at this time. Aargh, I hate when that happens.

Wonderful photos. Why would you go to Paris? I mean aren't there a bunch of French people there?

Too bad...

Had I known, I would have played guide in the evening after work.

My wife said that for the shot of the statue of the muscular man looking down at his little winkie should be, "If you experience an erection lasting 3 hours or more you may end up like this!"
