People are so differrent...

It almost makes the concept of "good advice" or "the right thing to do" irrelevant, as in order to be realistic, or feasible, situations must be weighed so heavily towards a person's particular type and capabilities.

I've seen some evidence that the world is moving towards more of an individualized model.

People are so different, yet they're the same everywhere ya go.

sexobon 10-05-2011 03:53 PM

Being different is "in"; unfortunately, so is being indifferent.

JBKlyde 10-06-2011 12:29 PM

Being an individual is important because the Lord God Almighty wants a "relationship" with his people. And Love is like a One on One thing.

jimhelm 10-06-2011 04:13 PM

how do you know what the Lord God Almighty wants, JB? specifically.

BigV 10-06-2011 04:34 PM

this should be good.

Do as I say, not as I do?

Faith I understand, a belief in things not seen. I get that. That doesn't help me understand your answer to the question how you know what the Lord God Almighty wants when you say "read the Bible" and "you have to have faith".

When there are contradictions in what I read, I am left with confusion, not understanding. Faith doesn't clarify my confusion. Faith helps me believe in things I can't see. What I can see is what is written, and that's the source of my confusion.

footfootfoot 10-07-2011 10:28 AM

V, you've got to back WAY up and define God first. Then what do you mean by "Almighty"? Is that powerful but not infinite, powerful and infinite? Omniscient?
etc. For example if God is defined as "infinite" then any definition, including "infinite" is a limitation. Any definition is a limit.

So, then god either is not infinite, or cannot even be discussed because to do so would be blasphemous.

I think it is always better to help someone in distress or put food on the table or make someone laugh than to begin talking about god.

JBKlyde 10-07-2011 10:36 AM

Who are you to call the God of all creation a hypocrite?? Do you ever think that maybe you are just not understanding correctly?? Thats where faith comes in.. If you draw near to God he will draw near to you. If you practice good faith such as praying singing and doing the things the bible tells you to do. Don't you think that then it will start to come together?? ANd not contradict. I use to think that God screwed up when he made man. But when I humbled myself and opened up my heart to take advice, I realized that my Idea of God was a puny spec of sand in a universe of devine cosmos. ANd now I see God as the Greatest thing that can possibley exist.
