Southeast Asia Flooding

Flooding is horrendous. Hndreds have died. It has interupted the supply of certain lenses from HOYA, who have a factory there. In the article, there's a photo of a swamped Honda factory, too.

There are some amazing photos in there.

I've seen in a couple places that if you are thinking about getting any consumer electronics, better do it now. Lots of factories that provide parts like hard drives, are flooded and shut down, and supplies are going to run short for a while. Probably won't be normal again until the spring.

This neighborhood, Nava Nakhorn, is where they make Western Digital and Toshiba drives.

Thanks Spexx! Those are incredible pictures. Those poor people!

@ glatt - We probably don't have to worry too much about consumer electronics. There's always China.

1% of the people get 80% of the water. It doesn't seem fair.

I was in Microcenter last night, and saw a sign that read something like "due to the current shortage, please do not buy more than 2 hard drives at a time".
