Sycamore's summary of the story: Man is apparently mentally disturbed, starts chucking stuff out his 25th floor apartment, jumps down to two more apartments, sets fire to one of them, then falls from the 23rd floor to his death.

I work about 3 blocks from where this occurred. From my vantage point on the 12th floor, I could actually see the apartment on fire...I missed the guy jumping by about 5 minutes.

I don't know what was going on in this guy's head, but I guess if you happen to be in a particular state of mind, you'll do just about anything.
