This gets its own WTF news thread.

WTF.

Discretion please, people.

Whoever he is, it might not be too serious. "Suspended with pay"" just means something needs to be checked out, it often comes to nothing and the officer returns to duty.

Sundae 06-06-2012 05:30 AM

Limes has been perfectly discreet.
So will I.

The person in question is being paid, which is better then unpaid.
However I imagine anyone choosing to work as a public servant would probably be devastated by those events.

So I have love and compassion for them.

There.
Discreet to the point of nearly saying nothing.

I hope all works out for the best.

Our public servants (I dislike that phrase) are held to a certain standard of accountability. That accountability has to be verified to be worth anything, and for someone in a position of such authority, the verifiers must come from outside that organization, an independent audit. To reduce the appearance of a conflict of interest, or undue influence, the officer has been excluded from the scene. This is the cleanest way to get the cleanest evidence. I believe the citizens, the auditors and the officer(s) all agree this is the best method, and let the evidence resulting from the investigation speak for itself.

I am confident of a good outcome for all.

Well, fuck me.

I hope it all comes out alright.

Sounds like the last thing he needs.

Hang in there...:comfort:

Unfortunately, when in public office, if you do a good job, chances are you piss some people off. And those people are often the bad guys. And sometimes, those people make unfounded allegations just to get their own back. But just in case....... the allegations need to be treated as if they were made by good guys with genuine grievances. Which generally involves temporarily removing the accused from office.

I am wondering if he is ill :( I hope he gets this all straightened out.

It's virtually guaranteed.

I thought about that. Maybe it's just that he's been forced to miss so much work.

"Suspended with pay" = free vacation. I hope the police chief is able to see it that way, and enjoy his time off.

TheMercenary 06-08-2012 04:07 PM

Oh, Hell. I am hoping for the best. Small town politics can be very complicated. Often these things are the result of nothing else.
