Progress is Beautiful
These started going up in the Pentagon this week. http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/8708/51403307.jpg

WOW!
|
It's Obama's fault.
|
I thought no one cared about this anymore....
|
God dang! Wow, yeah.
|
You know when the pentagon was built they made separate bathrooms for the blacks and whites.
|
The typography of that poster bothers me...
|
I find it curious that it has a quote from Panetta on it.
|
Quote:
I thought panetta was a type of bread. |
The quote is, if I'm not mistaken, from a video Panetta recorded in support of LGB servicemembers (trans* people need not apply - they're still barred from service, even if the posters and such imply otherwise) recently for pride month.
|
The typography is horrifyingly bad.
I will be excited about the idea on the poster when it is no longer needed ... celebrate humanity, people, not individual divisions of it. I heard about this on the new conservative talk radio station. So far the only thing that is pleasing me about the new conservative talk radio station is that they have more local stuff, and Dave Ramsey. I like Dave Ramsey. |
What station is that Wolf?

No problem in society is ever solved completely at the first try. But there is hope. The rock/hard place is the separateness of homosexuality from transgender. It's most ironic that f->m transition in the military may get some benefit in being perceived as lesbian, but the opposite is the case with the m->f transition. We can hope that the more publicity such issues receive in the general public, the more likely and quickly the resolutions will be. HUD has taken the repeal of DADT to heart, and in time the military will too. Quote:

This isn't exactly the thread for it but it doesn't really warrant its own:
So, yeah, we're all familiar with DOMA, right? the law that says the federal gov can't recognize same-sex relationships? Well, there's a growing number of insurance companies who provide benefits to same-sex spouses or partners, just like they do to all other spouses. Cool, right? Well, under DOMA, if your partner's employer-based health insurance covers you too, you have to pay taxes on it as taxable income, unlike between straight partners covered under a single plan. Hooray for the homo-tax! |
I think they may actually have found a way to stop homosexuality! TAX IT!
Oh and Ibram, your line ' "She", not "he", guys' is helpful, but some of the womenfolk around here get a mite riled up if you call them guys. :eyebrow:  |
