Woman smuggled in dashboard

This 135-pound woman was discovered hidden in the dashboard of a Suburban attempting to enter the US from Mexico.

Sorry I don't have more backstory on this, but it does show the lengths some people will go to out of desperation. I would have gone nuts in there within minutes.

I wonder how they planned to pull that off. It's not like the glove-compartment (I mean the gun-box), could close. Anyone that looked in would be able to see it.
On the flip, how many people have pulled it off successfully?
And let's hear it for GMC - built for durability and long enough to last until the last illegal is safe in the dash!

Sheer numbers. The number of vehicles crossing at any given checkpoint requires that the border patrol only inspect some of them (not even minor checking like opening the glove box). For every person caught, probably a dozen or more get through.

Of course some vehicles are spotted as potential problems - such as a suburban weighted down so much the wheels are rubbing in the wells - but there are ways to stay less suspicious too - like putting 2x4's to prop that same suburban up off the wheel wells.

Well, now we know how gossard made his millions... :)

Last Friday, the INS released their estimate for the number of illegals in the country, I'm gonna look for it but its something like seven million. What percentage are disgruntled Islamists? If we ratchet up this war on terror/Islam/axis/OPEC you can expect it to come here... it already is. Either way, wouldn't you think secure borders would be a priority. I like immigration but if you're going to bother to have a government don't you think it would be interested in who is allowed in.
