Fruit Pizza

Sounds weird but really good.

Cover a pizza pan with the crescent roll dough and bake till brown.
Cover with cream cheese that's been thinned out and vanilla added.
Cover about the center half with well drained crushed pineapple.
Cover the whole thing with blueberries, strawberries, and Kiwi... or whatever.
Thin apricot jam (sugar free for me) with water, and heat in the microwave.
Paint the thinned jam over everything, to hold it together when serving.
Pop it in the fridge, and serve cold.

Would I lie to you, my oldest and dearest friends?... if it didn't involve money or sex?

Yummm. You could do that hot too, like a flambe couldn't you? If you just poured a bit of something yummy from the liquor cabinet over the top...with a little brown sugar. Voila!

I forgot, the cream cheese gets 2 teaspoons of sugar (Splenda for me) along with the vanilla.

Ali, I'm in. :thumb2:

Looks like a thin crust fruit flan

orthodoc 10-12-2012 06:52 AM

Looks delicious, whatever you call it :yum:

A friend of mine used to make something like that, except she used strawberry jam for the "tomato sauce," and scattered pieces of fruit a little less liberally over the top, to resemble more of a traditional pizza topping look.

My mother and wife have both made this, but their recipe uses a giant sugar cookie for the crust.

Lola Bunny 10-12-2012 10:38 AM

That looks absolutely delish. There are birthdays coming up. Gonna try it. :D Thanks, Bruce!

Question: The cream cheese is softened, add sugar and vanilla, then thinly spread onto the crust, right?

Gravdigr 10-12-2012 01:47 PM

Looks like Walt Disney puked on a pizza crust.

Pass, no thanks.

Oddly though, I like everything that's on it. Except the pineapple, pineapple makes my mouth raw and sore.

Yeah. No. Disgusting.

Puke Pie.

Yes, she makes it that way for people that are more sugar tolerant.

Yes, you got it.

Lola Bunny 07-01-2013 09:17 PM

Hmmm.....Bruce, how much cream cheese do you use?

ZenGum 07-02-2013 12:08 AM

Kind of like a pavlova with pizza base instead of meringue.

Pineapple can do that. It contains enzymes that break down human proteins. Pineapple workers can have their fingerprints removed, and if you try to live on nothing but pineapple, it will eat away at your innards.

You might be extra sensitive.
