So I kinda got fired...
But its cool. I've been applying for new jobs. I hated my job and I was getting nowhere with it. I'm confident that I will find a new position soon, especially since I've had 1 interview. I have a 2nd interview for that position tomorrow and I have had a couple on interested calls.
So anyway, I thought I would start a self involved thread about it. |
fuuuuck...
Your attitude sounds good, your description of your prospects sounds very good. I reckon you'll do fine. Hang in there, no longer being in a job you hate is already a step up. Congratulations. |
Shit!Well the fun of being young > on to the next thing! :)
|
Good luck MTP. Sounds like you're attacking this the right way, and BigV is right, no longer being in a job you hate is a BIG step up (yes, the voice of experience there!).

Good attitude! Good vibes! Listen, from an old crone: sometimes getting fired is the best thing that can happen to you. :crone: |

I'd hire you. Have you considered being a free tour guide to poor Brits? ;)
Looking good MTP. Which is not really a good feminsist thing to say. But like everyone on here I write good to mean confident and positive. As well as hey, sexy lady. What? I was born in 1972, some values are endemic!! |
Aw thank you all for the support and the lols :)
Sundae, I would give you free tours and a place to stay, you get your butt to Texas and we'll paint the town red. Spex, I'm too short for modelling. 5'2" is not considered ideal :(. I like being short though, tall people have to reach things for me. I may be REALLY poor right now, but I am so fucking relieved I got fired. I think the interview went well, I wasn't too nervous, although all that is starting to hit me. I'm trying not to dwell on it. The recruiter who met me before hand said he thought is would go well for me, that I had the right attitude. I was confident and smart and just little witty so they wouldn't be bored. The recruiter thinks I can hear back as early as today! 2 issues: 1, the drive is like an hour, I hate traffic and I don't want to move from my awesome apartment (have I mentioned I have hardwood floors and a yard?) and 2, its a 6 mo to hire position. I would really prefer a 3mo to hire or immediate hire. I can live for 6 mo without real insurance though. If I have to, I can go back on my parent's for about $200/mo. |
Ah well then the resemblance to my cousin ends there.
She takes after her tall Dad. I think she's about 6' Tall genes run in both sides of my family. Not that you'd know it from my Mum and sister and her kids :) I obviously got the MANLY genes. Keep on keeping on. I may lose my job too. And I actually loved it. But if it happens then at least I can remember it didn't help me be well (only I can do that) and I couldn't work enough hours to support myself. Sad to focus on the negative - in my case - but true. I'd like to sing in bars as a part-ime job. Not realistic either. Good luck ckick. |

Some bad news: I just got a call from a recruiter for a different position but they do not think I'm qualified for it :(
Some good news: I got an email from another company wanting a phone interview with me tomorrow or Friday! |
Doin well sweetie. Job hunting is a numbers game as much as anything else. The more applications and interviews the greater the chance of a job.
Good luck with the phone interview tomorrow :) |
