April 15, 2013 - Street Crevasse
We've seen plenty of 3D street art and things that seem to rise above and go below street level,
but this artist takes it one step further: http://cellar.org/2013/crevasse.jpg Artist Edgar Mueller drew this piece and then convinced people on the street to help him complete the illusion by posing as if the crevasse was real. "I wanted to play with positives and negatives to encourage people to think twice about everything they see," he said. "It was a very scary scene, but when people saw it they had great fun playing on it and pretending to fall into the earth. I like to think that later when they returned home, they might reflect more on what a frightening scenario it was and say, 'Wow, that was actually pretty scary!'" It took the artist 5 days/60 hours to create the 250 square metre image. Source: Pat Brody Shelter for Cats |

The illusion didn't really work for me but it might need two eyes there, rather than the one-eye-computer monitor, here.
