Da Bears in my neighborhood

We got BEARS! This is usual in Griff country but not suburban Philly:

And here I left the pawn shop because I was scared of the threat of violence from black animals...!

(please assume that I have posted that funny animated GIF of the black child. I am too lazy to find and link to it. Thank you)

;)

I was living in Ambler when they knocked the bear cub off the phone pole behind the McDonalds. After being relocated, he came back. Then they euthanized him. Fast food kills, people.

Wow. That is so much better than the original.

Lamplighter 04-16-2013 12:28 PM

Some white animals are much more vicious than black animals.

I always expect more from UT than this sort of crap

jimhelm 04-16-2013 12:41 PM

Most are, actually.

Undertoad 04-16-2013 01:09 PM

I expected that of you LL, and was not disappointed.

But oh please tell us more about your special perspective on race from Whiteyville, Whitesconsin.

jimhelm 04-16-2013 01:13 PM

good point. being amongst others makes you more racist.

For example.... I am, quite frankly, bigoted against the Amish.

Jesus Christ, that's offensive. Jew ought to be so embarazada, you cover your fat-assed face with one of those rags like an Arab squaw.

I thought it was more the day-by-day chipping away at the empathetic humanity that makes you a generally good person; the slow inevitable death, not the sudden steely one.

Undertoad 04-17-2013 07:12 AM

It was both. Did I tell you all this story on the shop thread?

One night in December my car battery died and the other guys had left. I called for a jump start and waited in increasing darkness 25 minutes for help to arrive. They finally did arrive and jumpstarted my car and I drove away at 6:15pm.

At 7:30pm, a half block away from our parking lot where I was waiting, a man was shot to death.

xoxoxoBruce 04-17-2013 08:14 AM

He was shot for a reason, you didn't give them a reason.

Undertoad 04-17-2013 08:46 AM

That's what we tell ourselves to imagine how things work there, but the ghetto doesn't really do "reasoning".

I'll never forget the guy who wanted cash back for his broken xBox (six months out of our 30 day warranty, and we don't do cash back anyway) and felt compelled to tell Sammy he was three weeks out of jail and "I'll see you on the street."

That thug will go back to jail eventually... for the worth of a broken xBox. That's ghetto reasoning.

I see a bunch of your patrons (well not YOURS but they are the same, really) every day, just hanging around unused buildings in town. They get up WAY early in the morning to hang out in front of defunct businesses. They have drive and ambition.

They also stand on the sidewalk and yell a lot. What's that about? Sometimes they're yelling at nobody and sometimes they're just yellin' with friends. I think it's something about 'we so cool.' Loud and mouthy is ghetto cool.

I don't care for cities. To think I used to think I wanted to live in one.
