Acceptable Cherub

How weird is this or is this a fairly normal coincidence?

One of Squirell Nutkin's mutual matches has the same surname as his ex and the same astrological sign. I'm thinking maybe he should just stay clear but that would be caving to superstition.

Do it , but meet in masks , stay in masks

I'd say it depends on the last name -- a Smith wouldn't bother me, but something rare would.

What's SN's sign? (and the sign of the crazy ex, for that matter)

sn=the virgin
ex=water bearer

I am an acceptable cherub.
No, really. I'm an angel once you strip off my clothes.

Well, I guess acceptable is down to how broad-minded your parents are ;)

PS. Don't get me started on astrology.
Having believed in it as teen, I am now as vehemently against it as an ex-smoker is against tobacco.

Derren Brown's gotten to you, hasn't he?

You know it.

I still look for patterns, signs and symbols.
I still miss their significance on my life.

And I love TV shows where fictional characters have real visions/ insights/ unexplained jumps of logic.
But I've met three "journalists" who were called on to make up horoscopes at short notice. It made me sad.

In a Douglas Adams book, or Terry Pratchett, or even Kate Atkinson, the spin would be that a harried sports journo made up a horoscope which then came true and changed the life of one central character, influencing others around them in ways that could not possibly have been predicted.

In fact, in very different ways, that is what those three write (wrote) about. Weaving the thread of individual lives into something that can be looked back on as a cohesive past. Or future.

Years back, I was browsing some singles site, and noticed one calling herself "Blonde with a brain". It was worth having a look, if only because it was fun to address my immediate supervisor at work as Blonde With A Brain the next day. Her reaction was most amusing.

Coincidences happen. Surname, area, star sign, and rough age match? Good chance it's her. It's probably best to avoid contact ... but it would open a very interesting opportunity for ... [sinister pause] ... mischief.

I went on OKC for two weeks when J and I were offline.

Jinx came up in my searches.

She has a boyfriend, but I don't know where she found him. Sounds like a nice guy. Ripley says hes shy. I hope he is a good match for her.

Dating sites are a lot like trying to source suppliers from Asia. You have a few on the hook till you find one who'll give you what you want at the price you want, then you just stop talking to the others.

I thought of that today while I was communicating with someone from China.

footfootfoot 05-31-2013 01:19 AM

I like that analogy. I guess my prices were too high!

or your delivery was suspiciously fast. When I read your posts, I thought arranging a date after only five emails was... quick.

Actually, they suggested it first. The wisdom of the site says shit or get off the pot, by a few accounts I am slow to draw.

BigV 05-31-2013 11:40 AM

so... *they* suggested getting together, then *they* stood you up?

if so, good. count yourself lucky. you (really really) don't need more exposure to that kind of randomness/drama/lack of communication.
