PET/CT
Tomorrow I have the joy of becoming radioactive for 24 hours or so. I get the glowing sugar solution IV, wait around for an hour or more, and then the two scans are done more or less together. The scan took around twenty minutes last time, if I recall correctly. I'm hoping I'll be able to persuade the radiologist to let me see the images before I leave; otherwise I have to wait until August 12 to see the new oncologist.
I ate a steak tonight as my 'low-carb' dinner prior to the scan, thinking it'd be interesting to taste beef again, but it was probably a mistake. So heavy! :( |
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow, ortho. Best wishes.

Good luck tomorrow

It's official! My scan is clean and I am NED (no evidence of disease)!! The hot spots on my chest wall have disappeared. I'm doing the happy dance in my office right now. :D:jig:

Thank you!! I am SO happy and excited. Now I feel I can plan for the future, commit to a job, etc. I'm going to celebrate tonight with the residency coordinator who has stayed with me after a couple of my surgeries and flexed my schedule this past year so that I wouldn't lose time overall. I wish I could celebrate with all of you! Maybe we'll have to organize that Cellar Lost Weekend at some point.
