Psalm 76

Psalm 76[a]

For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of Asaph. A song.

1 God is renowned in Judah;
in Israel his name is great.
2 His tent is in Salem,
his dwelling place in Zion.
3 There he broke the flashing arrows,
the shields and the swords, the weapons of war.[b]
4 You are radiant with light,
more majestic than mountains rich with game.
5 The valiant lie plundered,
they sleep their last sleep;
not one of the warriors
can lift his hands.
6 At your rebuke, God of Jacob,
both horse and chariot lie still.
7 It is you alone who are to be feared.
Who can stand before you when you are angry?
8 From heaven you pronounced judgment,
and the land feared and was quiet—
9 when you, God, rose up to judge,
to save all the afflicted of the land.
10 Surely your wrath against mankind brings you praise,
and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.[c]
11 Make vows to the Lord your God and fulfill them;
let all the neighboring lands
bring gifts to the One to be feared.
12 He breaks the spirit of rulers;
he is feared by the kings of the earth.

Hmm...wouldn't've figured Mr. "holier than thou" to be a hip-hop kinda guy.

JBKlyde 10-08-2013 06:56 PM

whatever I'm not going to try to defend my views to people who just want to run me through the mud.. and more rnb than hip hop

If you don't wish us to bash your beliefs, then don't constantly post them. That's what we have a problem with, not your actual beliefs. Just don't keep telling us about it. It makes us (or at least, me) feel like you're trying to convert us to your religion.

JBKlyde 10-08-2013 10:41 PM

I could say the same thing about you it's part of my beliefs to express them.. I am an artist that's what real artist do... your ignorance in saying that I should not post them so that way you will not bash me is like a cop saying to me "if you do the right thing I will arrest you".. I am posting on an open forum with high public access so the people can have the liberty of choosing to trust or not to trust... if you don't like it don't read it...

I think it's safe to say that most here don't have a problem with JBK posting his beliefs. The vast majority don't feel compelled to 'bash' him or his beliefs. Some of us challenge him now and then, but he gets the same respect as do you.

JBK should keep posting what he believes, what he thinks ... he gives us food for thought many times, and he always stimulates thought and discussion. If I had the same challenges, I don't know that I'd be an inspiration to anyone. Live and let live.

John, you are probably not aware that JB is a functionally independent but struggling schizophrenic. His religious discussions may be about conversion on the surface, but really they're about him figuring out his inner demons. It's cool, just let him do his thing.

JBKlyde 10-08-2013 11:44 PM

that's such a hypocritical statement clod... your diagnosing me with skitzo religious preocps but at the same time your saying I have demons.. anyone in the psyce world would not call them demons more like gargoyles..

Clodfobble 10-08-2013 11:54 PM

"Inner demons" is an expression, JB. I attend a Christian church myself, but I believe there are no such things as literal demons. It is not the religion that makes you seem schizophrenic, it is the schizophrenia that alters your views on religion. You can believe in God without believing in the hallucinations.

yes to that... amen
