Moderator nomination thread

This is part one of the moderators election. (Part two is the actual vote.)

The term of office for this election is through 1/1/2015, and the number of moderators shall remain unchanged at two.

Nominate people to be voted on in the moderators election. People nominated here will appear in the moderators vote, unless they specifically say they do not accept the nomination.

Joke nominations are discouraged, only because I can't tell whether you are joking or not.

The moderator election is not a popularity contest, and everybody hopes that losers, if there are any, do not feel discouraged about the Cellar. Moderator is a harder job than it appears, if only because people think of you differently if you are a moderator.

Nominations will close at 11:59 pm Eastern time on Jan. 5. If this is longer than appears necessary, it's only to make sure everyone gets a chance to see the thread and participate.

Nominations are open.

Same as before. I see no need for change.

zippyt 01-01-2014 06:23 PM

I see no need for change as long the Current mods are willing

Aliantha 01-01-2014 06:37 PM

Thats it then. Me and Zip said. :)

Griff 01-01-2014 08:12 PM

If they'll keep on, I'd keep them.

glatt 01-02-2014 07:47 AM

I'm willing to do it again, but if anyone else wants to do it, you should speak up. You can nominate yourself.

Elections are better when there are choices.

Reflecting back on how I think I've been doing, it's been really easy the last year or so. Very few spammers. But I'm kinda at a loss of how to deal with JBKlyde, so I've done nothing. His posts seem to be better lately, so hopefully it will work out. So that's a good example of what you get (or don't) with my moderating style.

I hesitate to bring this up, because I like wolf. But she doesn't come around much any more. So I'm pretty much the only mod. Wolf, I'd like to see you in the Cellar more. I know your work schedule is hectic and times change. So if you can't, I understand. But if you can't, maybe it would be good if we had another more active Dwellar who could be one of the mods. Then again, the workload is pretty light, and having one active mod seems to be working just fine.

Clodfobble 01-02-2014 07:53 AM

I wanted to go see if wolf was lurking around even when she wasn't posting... her last login was 12-02-2013, for reference.

classicman 01-02-2014 09:43 AM

One can lurk without logging in ... just saying.

Gravdigr 01-02-2014 11:30 AM

I don't think we could do better than good Sir Glatt. I was also plenty happy with Wolf. I'd be perfectly happy with Glatt/Wolf, again.

Just throwing names: Bruce, Ms. Fobble maybe?

Glatt seems to have that perfect balance of "Now cut that out!", "OK, fukkit, you're outta here.", and "Well, that's part of our world, deal with it." He'll even 'splain it to ya, if ya ain't getting it.

Besides, Ali and Zip said so.

fargon 01-02-2014 02:33 PM

It ain't broke.

lumberjim 01-02-2014 02:37 PM

I think Wolf is not paying close attention. I'd like to see glatt and clod.... Or Modfobble as mods.

Gravdigr 01-02-2014 02:57 PM

Modfobble...sounds like a board game.

BigV 01-03-2014 11:36 AM

I nominate richlevy. I think he's around regularly, smart, level-headed, computer fluent. I think he'd be a fine moderator.

Gravdigr 01-03-2014 03:22 PM

I couldn't think of anyone else who was active enough and had teh skillz.

I'd be cool with Rich, I believe.

Aliantha 01-03-2014 05:38 PM

Rich is a great option.
