The twins were found in a Baja California lagoon yesterday.

Sadly, they did not survive.

Conjoined twins have been seen in other whale species, but this is the first recorded gray whale find.

The twins were not full term and were probably miscarried.

One expert speculated that the mama whale may even have died as a result.

That *is* sad. And strange.

Griff 01-07-2014 05:03 AM

Yeah, it bummed me out along with the report of the Japanese taking more whales illegally...

SPUCK 01-07-2014 07:08 AM

Blimy! Whale ahoy.
Fetch my harpoon matey!!
Avast!
Belay that...
Two harpoons!

Er um.. Just fetch me my bottle of rum instead.

Griff 01-07-2014 07:44 AM

That's the *cough* spirit.

Makes me wonder how often this happens, because mostly what happens in the ocean, stays in the ocean.;)

My first thought was not Japanese whaling but the Japanese nuclear disaster at Fukushima.

Griff 01-07-2014 11:22 AM

You may have a point.

SPUCK 01-08-2014 05:25 AM

or two?

xoxoxoBruce 01-08-2014 07:51 AM

It appears a lot of shit is being blamed on Fukushima that shouldn't be. Some that's not even true.

BigV 01-08-2014 09:15 AM

Only a salp believes that shit.

Diaphone Jim 01-12-2014 12:01 PM

I don't think it is a very good idea to downplay the possible end results of the Fukushima meltdown.

CaliforniaMama 01-24-2014 04:26 PM

It's not just that. Here in the States, even in California, they are finding frogs with some seriously weird birth defects. It's fertilizer getting in the water and chemical dumpage from manufacturing plants and medicines that we flush or pour down the drain that can't get filtered out by the water purification process.

We could all be on Prozac and not even know it!

If it was in Japan, there would be video of it being shoved up someone's nono place.

What? It would be.
