I remember as a little kid being frightened and fascinated by a local cow dealer's hook. Why not make the prosthetic beautiful and a reflection of the user? Check out the chrome one for the biker as well.

I've mixed emotions about these. They're technically very cool.
They draw attention to the fact the wearer has likely suffered a great trauma and overcome a big handicap to function like other humans again. They make you want to hear the story.
On the other hand, they approach attention whore status, screaming pretty much the same message, but overshadowing the fact there is much more to this human than this injury. They could be a Doctor, Lawyer, Indian Chief, but you may never know.

It's like decorating your cast when you break your arm.

If you can afford it and want to celebrate it, go for it.
You're still a butcher, baker, candlestick maker. You just happen to use a limb you weren't born with.

Fairly awesome.

There's a part of me that legitimately thinks, "I'd like to lose a leg just so I could wear one of these." How fucked up does that make me?

Have them make you a prosthetic tail version. You'll never have to stand on the bus.

... Not fucked up. Perhaps you'd like "American Mary".

Quote:

From the creative team that brought you the indie-smash film Dead Hooker In A Trunk - American Mary is the story of a medical student named Mary who is growing increasingly broke and disenchanted with medical school and the established doctors she once idolized. The allure of easy money sends a desperate Mary through the messy world of underground surgeries which leaves more marks on her than the so-called freakish clientele.
The producers wrote themselves into the script, btw.
