Father and Son bonding.

what better way for a father and son to bond than sports, like baseball, bowling, or archery.

Awesome picture!

Still, a great day over all.

I'm glad at that moment Dad wasn't retrieving his golf ball
|
At least he had the foresight to put the apple on his shoulder instead of his head.

Maybe if he'd built the kid one of these the kid wouldn't have shot him.
|
...or, if he'd had the sense not to stand in front of a child holding a weapon.
Popdigr taught me how to shoot (bows, and firearms), and I do not have even the vaguest recollection of him EVER getting in front of me when I had a weapon in my hands. Aaand just for nothing: When I stopped archery, I could hit a LifeSaver candy at 120 feet. Yeah, I'm awesome like that.:blunt: |
I'm impressed !
|
So am I, I cant hit shit with a bow and arrow.
|
That's pretty cool, gravdigr. I couldn't hit the target at 120 feet with a bow.
|
Well, he started me with my first real bow at 5 years old, and the LifeSavers entered the picture at about 38-40 years of age.
He and his buddies used to play a form of golf with those plastic whiffle-ball looking golf balls and a hula hoop. Toss the ball out there, and then, by hitting the grass/ground slightly in front (or to the side, whatever you needed to do) of the ball you could 'jump' the ball around the yard. The object was to get the ball inside the hula hoop on the ground. If you impaled your ball, you forfeited. ETA: The LifeSaver thing was done with sights and a release aid. Popdigr did things like that shooting instinctive (no sights, shooting with fingers), but that was a long time ago. |
My son has a friend like that kid. I won't go anywhere near him and the inch is not allowed to do anything more than NERF guns w/ him.
