That simply will not fit on the head of an angry sea bass.

It seems like solar is finally becoming more practical to use for normal people. Now if we could just figure out how to harness our methane...

elSicomoro 04-05-2015 03:28 PM

And I only say that half-kiddingly. Seriously...imagine what we could do if we could harness the power of our farts?

xoxoxoBruce 04-05-2015 03:30 PM

That would exclude half the population as ladies don't fart. :headshake

My wife tried to be polite about that when we first started dating for about 2 weeks...perhaps I shouldn't have encouraged her. ;)

Hey, Sic! Methane is on the up (so to speak).

This is a 5-minute video in the NY Times today...

Utility vs. Homeowners Over Solar Power
NY Times - Erik Braund and Eugene - 4/19/15
Quote:

In Hawaii, where 12 percent of the homes have solar panels,
handling the surplus power is putting pressure on the state’s biggest utility,
which is fighting to reduce what it pays for the energy.
First, I'm surprised that it takes only 12% of the homes to have solar panels
to make a dent in Hawaii's traditional power supply's economics.

Yes, Hawaii is unique.
But we are told that Vermont gets enough sun to make solar energy worth while.
As does Seattle and Portland with all of their rain and cloudy weather.

In Hawaii, this video presents a difference between a $450 monthly billing,
and a free (or $40 profit) each month.

It's not quite that extreme in PDX, but still...
