Apr 1st, 2016: Glastonbury Abbey
Quote:
I call it a business in they need cash flow to support the abbey, unlike a church which is supported by members. A couple years back there was one here in the states, that was selling recycled printer ink cartridges. http://cellar.org/2016/kingarther.jpg Glastonbury Abbey was the biggie, big foam hand with #1 on it. They had a glass business going on, plus lots of land which produced a fat cash flow. But one night some monk or brother, after a wee too much of Jesus's blood, screwed up the put-out-the-fire-and-bring-in-the-cat, routine, burning the Abbey down. Faced with the massive job of rebuilding, the interruption of business(cash flow), and the specter of patrons being diverted to competitors, they prayed for guidance and consulted with legal and accounting. Then they decided the path to salvation was to lie their ass off. http://cellar.org/2016/kingarther2.jpg Oh yes, Artie and Gwen are buried right over there, please stay on the path, don't litter, and exit through the gift shop. Last chance to experience this because we're going to move them, so come back next year and see the new location. Despite being April first, and being posted by a fool, this post is not an April Fool's prank. :headshake link |

I was a fool before it was cool.

Ha.
I was a fool before April. Come to think of it, I was kind of a fool for April, she was a bit of a freak. |
I knew one of those, too. Biblically. Man, that girl liked kissing. She coulda been a champion free diver.
