Apr 19th, 2016: Electric Bicycles

Bicycling is a great hobby, helps keep weight off, good cardio and exercise if you don't get hit by a bus. However, if it's your only
transportation it can be a drag going somewhere uphill, both ways, or coming home after a hard day in the salt mine.
Then technology brought electric assisted bikes, but some didn't link the modern style bikes they were built from.
Solution, stage right...

Luca Agnelli founded Agnelli Milan Bike in 2015 to introduce a range of electric mobility for a more traditional rider.
Showcased at the stone island ‘craftworks’ exhibition for Milan Design Week 2016, each bicycle is put together with a frame and
1950s tank, and then modified to fit the accessories chosen. First apprenticed as an antique furniture restorer, his bikes
resolve technical and aesthetic problems by adapting to continual changes in function and form. ‘For me perfection does not exist,’
explains Luca Agnelli. ‘I work and create in order to never reach it.’
Does that mean he intentionally falls short of perfection, or it's not possible? http://cellar.org/2015/shades.gif

What's up with the forks, is that double design to provide front suspension?

Yes, like the Harley Springers.

I am doing some research, but I have to admit that the motive principal here is not immediately clear.
Battery in the "tank" and a motor in the rear hub?
Probably not battery and motor in the hub:

I've seen a number of electric assisted bikes, some were posted in the bike thread. Makers have taken various approaches, some for power, figuring you only need help on big hills, some for efficiency, figuring range was the priority, some for cost, for obvious reasons. Agnelli's bikes are dedicated to retro art foremost, and the fit/finish is exquisite, which tells me they are very expensive too, although I haven't seen any prices.
