Apr 25th, 2016: Stairs
Honey, I'm home.
Rough day, Dear? Terrible, I'm dead on my feet. I need a beer. There's some cooling in the water down stairs. http://cellar.org/2016/stairs1.jpg Oh crap, none up here? No, it's chilling in the cold water. http://cellar.org/2016/stairs2.jpg According to this Boston lawyer... Quote:
This link tells about these stairs in Portugal. If you want fancy stairs, look here. |
I bet the views from the decks/turnabouts are unbelievably spectacular...and my knees are screaming bloody murder just looking at this.

Spectacular.
The link says 8km. You don't see this kind of thing a lot in the USA. We have dirt trails a lot, and overlooks near the parking lots, and occasional short boardwalks here and there. But I can think of only a few examples of this kind of heavy duty infrastructure for pedestrians more than 1,000 meters from a parking lot. A few nice trails in the Watkins Glen area, some Everglades boardwalks. That's about all I can think of. There are plenty of short 100 meter long boardwalks going through marshes and such, we have a handful of those locally. But nothing close to 8 km that I can think of. I approve of this. Reminds me of a waterfall area in the former Yugoslavia. Plitvica Jezera, or something like that. |
Yellowstone has a lot of boardwalks to keep the fools out of the hot water/mud. The total length is pretty big, but they're spread around the park.

Wow, that's magnificent!
