80,000 Canadians have been told to flee the fire at Ft McMurray. |
I'm surprised those cars don't seem to be weighed down with more personal belongings.
|
Ain't nobody got time for that. ;)
before the oil people came the population was 2000, now it's 80,000. Probably half of them have a family elsewhere and don't have a lot of stuff. |

Nasty...

Craziness. Not much time to react and then you end up in a traffic jam.

This picture jumped out at me. A neighborhood where the homes are burned to the foundations which is not a surprise from what we've been hearing. But the clusters weren't cheek by jowl, the grass is still green, and trees singed but standing. I guess airborne sparks/cinders and a hot wind, but still freaky.

With the tar sands being kind of on the ropes economically and politically, I wonder if people just move on?

I can't get over the homes completely destroyed while across the street, even next door untouched.

They had to get out in a hurry, just leave the two bikes and snowmobile.
|
Knowing a fire is coming, why then would anyone leave their vehicles behind? Do so many have defunct vehicles in their driveways?
