Nov 5th,2016: The Major was a Lady, Suffragette
The three original "majors" were Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony.
The three were carved is stone which was presented to Congress in 1921. http://cellar.org/2016/sufferage2.jpg But Congress stuck it in the basement crypts until 1997. They also removed the inflammatory inscriptions, “Men their rights and nothing more, Women their rights and nothing less” and “Woman, first denied a soul, then called mindless, now arisen declared herself an entity to be reckoned.” http://cellar.org/2016/sufferage1.jpg Quote:
