A Puzzle

Here's a simple puzzle, all you have to do is put the pieces together in a perfect rectangle.
|
maybe I will print it out and try. I feel like it spells something rude and I'm just not seeing it.
It's more geeky and interesting than I realized. |
No spelling.
|
You could also get the pieces from a game of Blokus.
|
Because 12 five-square tiles cover 60 squares altogether, there are four possible rectangular solutions.

footfootfoot's link leads to a page that makes brief mention of a game called Cathedral. www.cathedral-game.co.nz/history.htm links are complicated to embed with this phone, sorry.
Anyhow, I purchased a copy of this game in 1979 from John Davidson at a Renaissance Faire in southern California. A fun game and a pretty one. |

The mathematician who came up with this puzzle, stole 60 of his niece's blocks and glued them together in these five block shapes. :vikingsmi
