Mar 13th, 2017: Flame Tailed Slider
I haven't been able to find much on the Flame Tailed Slider except it hangs out in Western Australia.
But I can tell from the picture it's a snake with legs... let that sink in, Snake With Legs. :speechls: I guess it's in the Skink family. I know, not in my backyard. :headshake http://cellar.org/2017/flame tail slider.jpg Happy Birthday to the one I love. |
It's beautiful. I feel yet another near-impossible ceramic sculpture project coming on.....

Yes, those colors are amazing.

Equally puzzling is the Slow Worm. It isn't a worm or a snake, it's a legless lizard.
Like many other lizards, they have the ability to shed their tails to escape predators. While the tail regrows, it does not reach its original length. They are quite common in the UK, but I've only spotted them on rare occasions. Attachment 59747 Anguis fragilis |
Hey, at least nothing in the skink family, flame-tail included, is venomous. Or poisonous. So there's something in Australia that won't try to kill you...
|
Not that it doesn't want to kill you, it just can't.
|
My first thought was "Did the red one eat the green one or vice versa?"
|
Flame Tailed Slider...I once knew a chick like that.
|
Do you have a photo of her?
