What a sensible lady!
I have kept beef cattle for 45 years or so.
Some times financial and other constraints have forced me to have animals transported to distant auction yards. I hate it!
My ideal is to have the cow, bull or steer wake up in the morning to no stress, have breakfast and then have the lights go out (hoping a well placed bullet does that) while chewing their cuds.
Last time there was so little fuss that the rest of the nearby critters never knew what happened.
Any stress, even at home, can ruin the meat, let alone your karma.

She is quite a big deal in the Autism community as a side gig to her agricultural career.

One of her biggest complaints is that everyone always wants to talk with her about autism, and no one wants to talk about cows. :)

I'll have to work on a good cow question...
