Feb 1st, 2020 : Wuhan
After crossing Wuhan off your bucket list of vacations you may have a mental image of a dirt road village with bodies lying around.
Nope, Wuhan is a modern city of 11.08 million, and the capital of Central China’s Hubei province. This outbreak is causing China to lose face, so they are in full attack mode to knock it down as quickly as they can. This hospital with 1000 beds will be finished on Monday, February 3rd. http://cellar.org/img/wuhanhospital2.jpg This hospital with 1300 beds will be finished on Wednesday February 5th. http://cellar.org/img/wuhanhospital1.jpg The Atlantic has pictures of the city, the streets deserted per government order where unlike the US it’s an order, not a suggestion. But there are people out disinfecting the streets with hand sprayers. I wonder how toxic that stuff is? http://cellar.org/img/wuhanroads-1.jpg Putting this back in Pandora’s box is hard. I wonder how the Mexican beer maker feels about the name. :rtfm: link |
All the other problems certainly outweigh it, but you gotta admit--when you need two large-scale hospitals built from scratch in a week, iron-fisted authoritarian governments know how to get the job done.
|
That's for sure, looks like an army of ants. Get it done, slackers will be noticed.
|
Soft focus your eyes and it looks like an army of electric guitars playing in the mud.
|
Yes, it's rather a bizarre picture.

... Also, this will ALWAYS be the first thing I think of when I hear the word Wuhan. In many people's opinions, the only "real" China-type cymbal. Used by basically everyone, such as Neil Peart, even when he had a sponsorship by other manufacturers. I currently own FIVE Wuhan cymbals. They've been making them in the same factory for over 2,000 years. I can't think of another manufacturer of musical equipment who completely "owns" the idea, execution, and market share of an instrument as thoroughly as the Wuhan China. |
Yes, yes, and specifically, Telecasters! --

I thought of the Fender "P Bass" also. One of the first designs, and still most popular.
Not for 2,000 years, though! ... eta: you were responding to the other thing, lol |
Oh it does work both ways...! :)
|
Ought to iron that cymbal, it's all wrinkled.
|
You must be lookin' in the mirror, grandpappy.
|
Fat guys don't wrinkle. :p:
