7/21/2003: Japanese cadets salute
http://cellar.org/2003/nipponmaru.jpg
This makes for an interesting photograph. It's approximately 99 cadets, standing on the rigging of the tall ship Nippon Maru II, as she sails under the Golden Gate bridge. The ship was in town to celebrate 150 years of US - Japanese relations. Which seems an odd thing to celebrate, considering that some of that time was spent in the fiercest war known to man so far. Instead, celebrate the fact that we've both gotten over it and become pals. |
All hands aloft - man the yards

Baka x 99 , there were a perfect 100. Unfortunately #100 had one arm and tried to wave to the camera.

Welcome to the Cellar, Guey. That sick sense of humor fits right in around here. :thumb:
Great pic, UT. |
What happened to the guy on the very top right hand side, did he fall off? Maybe he was the fellow with only one hand. I bet you he was thinking as he was falling "opps I should not have given the wave, bummer" :eek3:

I think he's hidden behind the foreward mast.;)
|
99 Japanese cadets on the mast,
99 Japanese cadets; take one down, toss him in the drink: 98 Japanese cadets on the mast. |
ROFLMAO
damn Bitman...that was well timed and damn funny! :thumb:
