Grand Canyon

In Dodads a while back, I posted a picture of a boat flipping over on the Colorado River. I have hundreds of slides taken at the bottom of the Grand Canyon on that trip. I'm slipping a few in here before UT pistol whips me for taking up so much space.:D

Here we go.

xoxoxoBruce 07-28-2003 08:48 PM

Man what a ride.

xoxoxoBruce 07-28-2003 08:52 PM

Some do....this one didn't. I didn't take this picture. I was taken by a woman who was traveling with her husband, 3 daughters and two grandkids. They walked around this rapid.

What you see is not the canyon rim. That's a few thousand feet further up.

A warm shower is welcome after bathing in that 50 deg/F river.

Minerals in this stream will build up on anything in the water, causing these travertine formations.

This is the oldest and hardest rock in the canyon.

Don't drink the water.

A nice place to visit and rest.

Bruce -

I'll host your pictures if you know how to use an FTP client. If you don't... I guess we could figure something out.

Man, I've seen modern art that didn't look this beautiful.

I need the manual to turn on my PC.:D
I haven't been threatened by UT yet and I don't think anybody wants to see the other 3,000 slides. I might slip in a couple now and then from some other places like Alaska or Maine or Utah.
Thanks for the invite though Dave, much appreciated.
