The New Diamond Age

This article in Wired describes some of the new technologies in manufacturing diamonds, and how it may be used to build faster semiconductors. It also makes some interesting observations on DeBeers, the diamond cartel which currently has a stranglehold on the diamond market. Interesting stuff.

Great story. I'd love to see DeBeers get clobbered but they're not going down without a fight.:shotgun:

How about a loved one on a pendant

While we are on the subject of diamonds, check out LifeGem - for a small fee, they will cremate your loved one and convert the carbon remnants into a synthetic diamond.

Personally, I like the idea.
