Volcano!!
 

In Costa Rica on business, and made it to the volcano close to San Jose. You have to go fairly early in the morning, as it clouds over and you can't see anything, but it's a pretty cool view if you've never seen a volcano before. I also put the digital cam together with the binoculars just to see if any of the pics turned out, one of which I'll post in the next post (since I can't remember how to attach multiple files and am too lazy/busy to look).

that reflective water is just bizarre! It looks like some kind of hole cut into the side of the ground, and the sky is peeking through.

Wow. That second shot so reminds me of the Emerald Lakes of Tongariro Crossing. Just unbelievable that water can be that color. Every time I show somebody a picture of it, I have to say, "The water really is that color!" because I think they have to see it to really believe it. (The pics on the site linked above don't look quite accurate, but pretty close.)

I can't remember what the natural chemical process is that causes the color, but maybe somebody can enlighten me.
