all right - fuck it

i will jump on the newbie bandwagon. my name is henry and i was first lured into the forums by the often hilarious commentary in the IOTD thread. I have been a lurker for a while and finally decided to open an acct and post once in a while. what i hope get out of this forum is a good laugh, some thought provocation and hopefully participation in some of the more interesting discourses. i hope to contribute along the same lines. note - i am not illiterate or capilization averse - its just that the dmca police stole my shift keys!

Welcome, Insoluble!

So what do you do for a living? Or are you a student? Do you have a stance on gun control?

russotto 11-19-2003 10:45 AM

Also, are you an asshat?

dave 11-19-2003 10:46 AM

He *is* an asshat, but he has an opportunity to redeem himself, and seems to be doing a fine job so far.

FileNotFound 11-19-2003 10:50 AM

Nice to meet you insoluble.

I too am an asshat according to dave, and probably the unredeemable kind.

insoluble 11-19-2003 10:57 AM

yes i am an absolute asshat! redemption may not be the answer ...

gun control ... hmmm, i honestly have never put any time into thinking about it, so i guess the answer to that is "not really" i do happen to think that people running around on the streets pointing guns at eachother and worse are absolute pussies that could probably not handle themselves in an honorable sort of fight.

as are you on both counts sir (in my eyes at any rate)

i am a computer science student and i volunteer as an EMT, other than that i am an absolute bum.

mwbEEf 11-19-2003 11:01 AM

Where are you doing CS?

Undertoad 11-19-2003 12:30 PM

I find most EMT volunteers to be decent people.

insoluble 11-19-2003 05:26 PM

CS in syracuse - i am in my last semester of comm college then it will be syracuse university. Even if most emt volunteers aren't good people per se (which most are in my experience) they almost all seem to have a great morbid sense of humor, which i really appreciate.

elSicomoro 11-19-2003 05:28 PM

My brother is a certified EMT...and he has a sense of humor just like me (in other words, very bizarre).

i never knew you had a sense of humor...i thought you just hung around dave because you felt sorry for him.

elSicomoro 11-19-2003 08:34 PM

If I don't help these youngins break into the real world, who will?

insoluble 11-21-2003 07:58 AM

wow - no big welcome from april - I must be REALLY unpopular (just the way I like it)

juju 11-21-2003 08:57 AM

Nah.. just because she's constantly re-introducing herself doesn't mean she's inclined to greet others. :)
