Iraqi mass graves gallery

This gallery of pictures of mass graves is very much like the IotD of an Iraqi grieving at a plastic bag of remains.

If you have the bandwidth, it is one of those things that's "very important to look at", although you may wish you hadn't.

And when you get to the bottom of the first page, and pause over the "next" link, consider that you have 48 pages to go.

Very important to see. I was heartened to see western individuals present, US military, Powell and unknown others. Any details available on the range of images? I remember reading some concern by HR orgs that the genocide, or thats not the right term if its your own people...that the mass murdering was documented, witnessed as well as possible.

I have no further info.

It's not pleasant but more importantly it's not unique.:(

Yup, in as much as we need to look at these things, there are indeed similar images that could be *presently* taken in North Korea and the Congo.

Disturbing and powerful imagery.

Good to see that the US gov't is allowing images of dead Iraqis out -- it allows us to see what really happens over there. Too bad they won't permit images of our own dead to be published.

Go war.

I've seen pictures of dead Americans in Iraq. Found it just as disturbing.

Where?

xoxoxoBruce 12-03-2003 05:53 PM

TV and internet.

Actually, xoxoxoBruce might be right. The returning dead are prohibited from being photographed.

But I can't remember having seen a dead US soldier in the media for this entire war, so far.

They usually don't show faces clearly enough to identify an individual but I remember one from the fight where the blond was captured. He had a bullet hole in the middle of his forehead. I wondered if he had been shot in a firefight or executed after.
