1/2/2004: Manatee calves
http://cellar.org/2003/manateecalves.jpg
Happy Friday! What you got there is the result of the world's very first birth of twin manatees, in captivity. Or sea cows. Manatees are also known as sea cows. (I wouldn't riff on this, because comic Jim Gaffigan has already done the definitive manatee/sea cow bit.) The birth happened at a French zoo, and the official story notes that "Sea-going species of the smooth, cylindrical-looking animals, which have a paddle-like tail, were believed to have inspired the tales of mermaids among ancient sailors." Uh-huh. |
It certainly wouldn't take much trimming to make a roast. Mmmm....Manatee.:yum:

Are they inflating her?

According to David Drake, some early accounts of the manatee say that it tastes like the best beef.

I know I would probably feel wierd if my nipples were in my armpits suddenly. |
I knew a gal who could put her nipples in her armpits.
That was 20 years ago so I expect she can put 'em in her belly button at this point. |
