Just wrote itself a few minutes ago...

Let me be alone with silence.
Let me savour sweet solitude.
The chaos is too loud for me.
I don't want you to intrude.

This is my world, this is my life,
These are my contemplations.
I don't want your noise, your bitter stench,
Your petty, cheap frustrations.

Get out! Get out! Leave me now!
Silence is all I crave.
I eschew all things that reek,
It's the odor I deprave.

Whew...tough day, OC? ;)

OnyxCougar 02-24-2004 04:43 PM

Actually, no, today was remarkably stress free for me. Which is why I was surprised when that popped out.

edit: used "surpise" too much. changed it.

Happy Monkey 02-24-2004 04:50 PM

Can "deprave" be used in that way?

OnyxCougar 02-24-2004 04:56 PM

I webstered it before I used it just to be sure...

Quote:

Main Entry: de·prave
Pronunciation: di-'prAv
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): de·praved; de·prav·ing
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French depraver, from Latin depravare to pervert, from de- + pravus crooked, bad

1 archaic : to speak ill of : MALIGN
2 : to make bad : CORRUPT; especially : to corrupt morally
And yes, in my poetry/writing, I tend to be archaic. :)

i like it.

Sometimes getting your anger out on (virtual) paper means stepping away from it for a bit. I like, too.

xoxoxoBruce 02-25-2004 06:13 AM

But does it work any better than "GO AWAY OR DIE"?

Elspode 02-25-2004 01:21 PM

Well, it works better as a poem. Go Away or Die is too short even for a haiku...

OnyxCougar 02-25-2004 01:42 PM

I can name it "Go Away or Die".....

Elspode 02-25-2004 04:17 PM

What?!! Brilliant!!

BTW, I like it too...:3eye:

OnyxCougar 02-25-2004 04:37 PM

That means alot to me, Els. Thanks, hunny. Hows Stephen doing, by the way?

Elspode 02-25-2004 11:35 PM

Steve is doing physically very, very well. Emotionally, mentally...not so well.

He's not adjusting as well as I'd hoped in going back to his life prior to the surgeries. He got used to being around people (he lives alone and is rather socially isolated) and having people making a bunch of fuss over him all the time. He craves a lot more attention and interaction than he did before, and it is so damn hard for us to be there for him with him living elsewhere.

Not quite sure what we are gonna do yet. His return to work has gone very well, and that is important. We've just had a brand spanking new community center open up here in Grandview (it is *awesome*, truly), and we've signed him up for a membership there, so hopefully he'll get a lot out of that...perhaps a better physical self-image and perhaps some socialization as well.

I appreciate you asking, OC...how's things been for you? You've been sort of quiet around here, at least, about your run of the mill affairs, lately.

OnyxCougar 02-26-2004 10:19 AM

Glad he's ok, but I know what you mean about him being used to the attention. I think that's going to be the main obstacle with getting Bryan independant.

Once I get my journal back up I'll PM you the address. That has all the run of the mill stuff in it. :) Too boring for this bunch.

xoxoxoBruce 02-26-2004 10:47 AM

Yeah, get crackin Lady. I miss it.:(
