optimist or pessemist? quick question

Alright, we all know the song "Rocky Raccoon" on the White Album by the Beatles?

Right?

alright real quick like listen to the song, Now.. here's my question.. at the end of the song is Rocky alive or dead?

I think he's alive..

and they left to help with good Rockys' revival.. although after years of bandying (sp?) this one about i've found it all comes down to your defition of revival

to be revived to health

or the Southern Baptist version

his funeral.. and ascention (although one might argue if they allow Raccoons into heaven..)

anyway! think about it for a sec.. yeah I do have too much time on my hands? why do you ask :D

Nah...I don't think there's a lot of heavy symbolism in Rocky (used to do a four part harmony, acoustic version of that once many years ago). I think Dan shoots him and wounds him, the doc comes in and patches him up, and Rocky goes back to his room.

He finds the standard hotel room Bible and starts to pondering his taste in women and lifestyles.

His future is unclear, but hopeful in the end.

That's *my* take, anywho.

Yeah, I used to play a version of that myself... although in all honesty we could never get it quite 'right' (you know what I mean :)) .. although I'm not realy saying the Beatles meant much in the way of symbolism in tne song... well I mean you could put it in there.. but I'm more of the opinion that it's just a story.. aside from that the question I posed was meant more as a litmus test for the listener, not the meaning of the song itself.

on a side note (if I may ask) who did you play with? I've been in a couple of bands.. heh.. well.... more than a couple, we haven't played Kc much more over here in Larryville and points west (and south) we have been slurry, slurry2.0, gobstopper, boy elroy.. and a couple of others.. anyway, just curious (I doubt you would have heard of us we didn't do all that well.. although got to play with some rawkin' bands...*sigh* getting old
