A police officer talks with two men in a tree in New York's Central Park Thursday, April 22, 2004. The two unidentified gay lovers protested their families' lack of understanding for their relationship by climbing the Central Park tree, having sex in front of the crowd that gathered, and refusing to come down for hours. Not exactly helping their cause.

No...it sounded sort of...well, mentally unbalanced, to me.

Wolf? Think this pair has a good shot at being admitted to their local mental health facility?

Sure Wolf, give 'em the honeymoon suite.:lovers:

I think this is kind of funny...

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Engaging in licentious behavior in public is not necessarily a sign of a mental illness, although under New York Law it is probably a crime. Several crimes.

Most mental health commitment laws require that an individual be a "clear and present danger" to others to face involuntary hospitalization, so unless they were HIV postive and sprayed the gathered crowd with semen while establishing some genuinely crazy reason for doing so (the voice of the lord told me to), all they are is stupid.

(The dude with the long hair looks just entirely too drag queeny to be taken seriously. Why do the flamers flame so? I've met relatively few gay males who are REALLY like that, and even those that are know it's a put-on. So why? what is up with that?)

A friend of mine, the straightest gay men you'll ever meet, doesn't like screaming queens either. To quote him, "God I hate fags."

To use his own words, "I'm just a man who likes dick."

It sort of reminds me of the crowd here at the cellar.

Lady Sidhe and I hang out at a local Waffle House and one night a bunch of us were sitting around the table talking when TJ (the homo in question) sits down next to me with his stack of car magazines and we start talking about the new (at the time) Mercury Marauder. All of a sudden it hit me and I said, "You know something TJ? I have a pretty fucked up circle of friends when I have to find a fag to talk about cars with." We both busted up laughing and he said, You know you're right?"

Not a drag queen - a partially operated transsexual.

How about to themselves?

wolf 04-24-2004 07:24 PM

or themselves. Yes. Oops.

I suppose they COULD get a nasty scrape on the bottom from the tree.
