When Gun Laws Attack

Injured animals casualty of new handgun laws

http://warren.yourguide.com.au/detai...414&y=2004&m=4

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brian Kentwell says he has been left with no choice but to "hammer" injured or dying animals as he patrols 75 kilometres of irrigation channels in the district.
Mr Kentwell feels he is a casualty of the new handgun legislation that now precludes the use of pistols in the agricultural category.
~~~~~~~~~~~

In the meantime I have no alternative but to hit dying animals on the head with a hoe.

Humane Killers have been around since before the turn of the century ... but you do have to be in immediate proximity of the animal to use it.

They don't shoot horses, do they ... but it sounds like it. The device operates by using a .32 cal blank round and the force of the contained concussion kills the animal. I have also heard of versions that drive a spike into the animal's head.

Edit to correct laugable spelling mistake.

I'd like to see you get close enough to a kangaroo with two broken legs to use it. Just be sure to film the attempt...

Ahhhh, wouldn't a kangaroo with two broken legs be pretty ineffectual? All he'd have would be those little fore paws. But I'm not Australian, so what do I know?:confused:

They have a nasty tail don't they?

Well, yeah, they do have those big tails. I'm still confused though. Do they use them as weapons? If one had 2 broken legs, could he position himself to use the tail effectively? Any Austrailians care to enlighten me?

Even with broken legs, they could probably still thrash around pretty effectively. Roos can top 6' and have rather nasty claws, [Tim the Enchanter]and great big, sharp, pointed teeth ... [/Tim the Enchanter]

Thank you, Wolf, I lay awake all night pondering this puzzle regarding Roos. If I ever visit Australia you may be sure that I will shoot these viscious animals on sight, no matter what condition they may appear to be in. Oh, except that my gun will have been confiscated. Oh well.:D

Like many wild animals, they are only cute from afar, or in Disney animated films.

A good gun is like a good woman you have to support all year round and you only get to shoot it once in a while.

Since we can't use guns on injured animals, maybe we could use them on Perry5. Please, UT? Just one shot? Pretty please?
