Word association thread given polite death
 

I closed it. I don't know how many replies are permitted in vBulletin, or how much it taxed the system or even whether it taxed the system at all, but I started to worry about it. And clearly something had to be done or it would never ever die. I'm sure people were just pumping their post counts anyway, which is ridiculous IMHO.

Polite death. I like that.

It was a GREAT and GLORRRRIUS thread who NEVVVVVER had an unkind word. And it LOVVVVVVVVVED children and INSPIRED us ALLLLLLLLLL.

But a thread THAT big will never fit through the Pearly Gates and will be forever interned in the handicapped parking space just outside heaven for all passersby to gawk at as they pass through on their way to eternal reward.

Beestie you spoilt it! You're supposed to think of something that goes with spongie. Then we could wind up UT with more word association and it would be lots of FUN. *glances coyly up at UT* sorry UT didn't mean it, urm, just a joke, er, tee hee...

Hmmm...we have threads bigger than that one, and I thought it was kinda fun. Oh well...

It was somehow strangely compelling, wasn't it ...

I thought it was fun. I don't even pay much attention to my thread count..ah well. ;)

I think it's allure was, it was a quickie. No thinking required, unless you wanted to. Slam, bam, posted m'am. :)

i don't really care about the post count. i liked the word association thread because it was interesting to see whose mind went in what direction. would it be acceptable to have another word assoc thread and put it to rest after x number of posts and so on...?
