Saddam mocks accusers in court

"Since the days of the previous regime until now," the judge replied, explaining that the former US-led occupation administration had asked him to hold the trial.

Saddam then laughed: "You are trying me by order of the invasion forces. By what law are you trying me?"

"I am trying you in accordance with the Iraqi law," the judge said.

"Then you are trying my by the law that I enacted," Saddam Hussein replied. "You are trying me by a law that I approved and ratified."

Yeah, let's listen. The blithering of an old deluded fool is always good for some laughs. Besides, after all he's had to endure in the past year and some months, I don't think he's quite right in the head anymore and that should prove entertaining as well.

I say shoot 'em all...Saddam, Bush, Kerry and anyone else that actively seeks office.

We need a lottery where people are forced to serve their country. Sort of a political draft, only you don't get out of it because you have flat feet or are queer.

Anyone who wants to be President of the USA is inherently untrustworthy.

although the interesting point I'm looking forward to is when/if he goes on the stand to defend himself... as ought to be allowed by law... I think there's going to ba alot of dirty laundry aired at that point (sure sure... how much of it is true? and how much of it is just trying to 'fan the flames' (or will be).. somehow I'm guessing 'something' will happen to him before that is allowed... *adjusting tin-foil hat*
