When I was chatting with my friends happily,suddenly it got dark all around....
The power cut begins from about 7:55p.m July 22 to 6:05p.m July 23.
It's too hot to stay at home~most people came outside to rob the wind,though the wind was also very hot.
I went out with a torch to play and came back at over 0:00.Got home i found it hard to go to sleep ,the temperature is over 36 degree and the mosquito singing around you.~~~
The next day is very very boring.No TV,no computer,no air condition,all the things that need electricity were sleeping quietly,i could only listen to the radio......

When the electricity renewed,i turned on the computer at once,BUT i couldn't get on the internet,something was wrong with the line,i phoned the maintenance man and then everything is OK.....

oooo....that's writing style.....i'd like to learn some English idiom,that is more useful.Our English book is too formal and prolixity.
Do English-speaking people often use the sentence:That'all right.Thank you all the same.Could you please lend me 2 dollars?Sorry i don't know.and so on...Is there any short words to replace them?

Those are pretty basic sentences. It would be hard to make them shorter and still be acceptable WRITTEN English.
When speaking, we often use fragments or incomplete sentences, if it's a commonly used phrase. BUT, there is no way your teacher would accept that in an English class.
Is your teacher Chinese or foreign? :)

I have a friend that was teaching english in Tiwan a few years ago , i Tried to get her to have a GETTO SLANG day , so if these fine young folks ever went to the states they wouldn't be totaly lost !!!

I remembered my English teacher on junior high school(2000~2003).She's Northeasterner,her pronunciation is very interesting,not only in English but also in Chinese mandarin! I don't know how she become a English teacher...
But most students don't follow her pronunciation ,just learn grammar and other things from her...

Now my English teacher is still a Chinese(most English teachers are Chinese),i once found an foreigner in my school(in fact there are a few foreign teachers),but now i can't see any more.

In my city,some schools have a lot of foreign teachers,they teaches English and even other subjects. :biggrin:

My first 2 years of french classes were with a teacher with a heavy Boston accent.... and a huge comb-over that would escape and hang down past his shoulder on the wrong side. He had a good sense of humor about it all though.
