American troops in training

I just received these from .....someone.....somewhere. There are a lot from the collection that I am not supposed to show, but these are ok.

Looks like things are heating up in anticipation of .....something. Or nothing.

But then again, what the hell do I know.

one

two

three

No, really.......these guys are out in my backyard right now, I was just messin' with ya.

Is there any wonder why I dont go out much?

Undertoad 09-26-2004 07:15 PM

Speaking as a US taxpayer, I would happily pay for better equipment.

slang 09-26-2004 07:20 PM

Is there something specific you saw in the photos that you would replace?

Undertoad 09-26-2004 07:26 PM

Grenade launcher. Speaking from my experience in Ghost Recon, they really help when you suddenly need to clear out a big questionable area.

And those goggles look pansy ass.

Will that thing muzzle flash?

# 3 the great stamped tin wepons. Does Haliburton have the contract?

Why mess around? Send one Tomahawk in and call it done.

I suppose so......until some 9 year old takes your out after throwing sand in your eyes. Then they're cool to have, if not stylish.

The rifles with the funny looking attachment at the end of the barrel will spray fire in a ring tangent to the axis of the barrel, so yeah....they have quite a bit.

That is German made. I'll call Dick to get a quote.

I hope the guy in pic #2 isn't there to work on aim, because, unless the target is abnormally large for human representation, he's awfully close to the target. Ain't gonna learn to aim the thing sitting almost right next to the thing you're going to shoot. Unless he's there to learn the Point, Click, Spray Bullets method of shooting...in which case it makes no sense to have marked regions on the target. Unless that's all they had to work with...

I am offically thinking about that picture way too much.

slang 09-26-2004 10:31 PM

That's a good observation CW. If you look at the target at the figure labeled "1" you see a fairly tight group of holes. I dont know why they would be shooting at anyting other than the lethal zones of the humanlike figure.

I do believe that they are required to be walking at certain points of the course which makes it a bit harder to hit the target. If I remember correctly, there is also a drill that the shooter is required to walk and only shoot on command. That would aslo increase the difficulty.

I have pictures from Afghanistan I can't show. Same thing, but a lot more blood. :rattat:

Kitsune 09-27-2004 08:18 AM

I see they've switched to the new "woman in a burqa" targets in image #2.

slang 09-27-2004 09:43 AM

I thought it was a beer bottle silhouette. Silly me.

Elspode 09-27-2004 12:14 PM

What is the tube/wire leading from the grip pocket around to the other side of the gun for?

russotto 09-27-2004 02:46 PM

Looks like an MP5 I once fired. Fun stuff.

I'm guessing the wire is for a retrofit laser sight.

Kitsune 09-27-2004 02:53 PM

[dupe] What Russotto said.
