Richard Avedon has Died
The best possible eulogy for one of the finest photographers in history is to view and appreciate his work.

Thanks Els, I wonder why so many pictures on that site won't come up? He certainly found people that looked ordinary but scary/unique. I don't think he'd make it doing yearbook pictures in that style.
|
Strangely, the 'Net isn't exactly rife with his work. This probably means that he was a smart cookie, and kept his rights very closely held. I would have liked to find a link to more and better pictures, but alas, had not the time.
Still, he was a giant amongst the visual artists. |
really cool, scary pics...got right into the soul of people, didn't he?
|
He did for people what Ansel Adams did for landscapes.

Ever wonder who took Avedon's picture? Steve Muskie , son of the late great Ed Muskie from Maine.
Steve is a pro photographer, former art director of Yankee magazine and website designer. His website also has pictures he took of New England witches. :) |
Just for the record...Lauri and her cronies are *weird*, and although my wife, myself, and most of our close associates are witches...we ain't quite that weird.
That being said, I think maybe I'll send Ms. Cabot an inquiry to see how much she'd charge to be a presenter at our next Pagan festival. What a hoot that would be! |
I was going to point out the same thing.
Lauri is not weird. She's fucking nuts. Especially since she got the facial tattoo, although she wasn't doing too well before then. Expect some number over $10K, El. She's a BNP. If you can get Kerr Cuhulain, though, I might be enticed to come. |
Lauri Cabot looks kinda like Grace Slick. Hm. Anybody ever see Lauri and Gracie together???
|
Until I saw the Cabot I didn't realize that Aquanet was an acceptable smudging medium.
Those chicks must represent one hell of a fire hazard. Step too close to a candle and *foom* ... human torch. |
Heh, heh, heh.
I thought you'd get a kick out of the "professional" (kindest word I can think of) witches. I guess you need a portfolio when it's not enough to be a witch, you have to be perceived, a witch. :alien: |
