GUARDIAN letter-writing campaign

The Guardian is spearheading a letter-writing campaign to undecided voters in Clark County, Ohio. Some residents of Clark Co. have noticed letters from English men and women urging them to vote and to keep in mind that the entire world, not just the U.S., will be effected by the outcome. Most letter-writers are urging a vote for Kerry. The "winner" (I guess whoever writes the best letter judged by the paper) will win a trip to Clark Co.--I just hope who ever DOES win won't be too disappointed in the trip!

I think this is such a foolish move. Even non-reactionary moderates wouldn't appreciate the idea of foreigners telling (begging, whatever) them how to vote. It's already backfired PR-wise, and though we'll never know for sure, I suspect it will backfire in actual votes too.

This kind of remeinds me of a small story I read in the paper this morning. Apparently a top leader in Iran has endorsed Bush, because they think that previous Democrat presidents have been harder on them and their human rights violations than the Republicans have. The Bush campaign is refusing to accept the endorsement.

Here it is. This is the Guardian's take on the recent Iranian endorsement of Bush: Iran Endorses Bush

And Cheney's Halliburton does business with Iran!
