Prisoners: 3/5ths compromise anyone?
Felons are barred from voting in 48 of 50 states - including New York. Yet in New York, as in the rest of the country, disenfranchised prisoners are included in the population counts that become the basis for drawing legislative districts.
This guy wears his political agenda on his sleeve but facts are facts. I wonder though, how many upstate prisoners are actually double counted in the census? Lets face it democracy isn't that pretty or that legitamit a way of making your neighbors do stuff. Both major parties true believers are convinced that the others are cheating. They're both right and right now the Republicans seem better at it. |
Oh c'mon now. You want me to believe politicians would stoop that low?
Hmmm..ok. :) |
