Your Favorite Artists
Someone posted some art under the phrase "What. Must. This. Man. Dream?" (of course, I can't find the thread...) that turned out to contain some wonderfully dark and pleasingly intricate artwork. In turn, I'd like to reply with my current favorite work which I think is just as detailed, but opposite in "creepy factor": a beautiful piece by Sigeya. The colors in this are amazing and everytime I look at it I find a new, tiny feature I didn't see before. Bottles, dragonflies, a weathervane, fireflies, distant structures, text clippings, lanterns. The image gives a nice, warm feeling.
...and my current favorite for 3D CGI and machine design is Movkup, especially for producing some fantastic looking heavy equipment. Steel, iron, and textured rust. Nice. Any others you'd like to share? |
The Sigeya is really cool. Makes me think of my two kids.
For CGI, my favorite is 3dTotal . Here's a couple of my favorites: I'm linking the first two because they are too big to fit. Homeworld Running Death http://www.3dtotal.com/home2/gallery...s/big/1728.jpg |

I usually don't get flipped out by non-representational art, but rothko's stuff just hits a nerve with me. The color choices and textures are just too perfect, and it seems odd to say, but the emotional content of his work is very real and very evident.
Enough artsy fartsy stuff. I knows what I likes, and I likes me some mark rothko. |
late Turner stuff is my thing at the moment. So close to abstraction, so early, amazing.

Ryan Bliss' Digital Blasphemy always makes for some very nice desktop backgrounds.

An old-time favorite . . Stephanie Pui-Mun Law I discovered her art some five years ago, and completely obsessed over her stuff. .. ahh, she still makes me happy.
Kitsune - Hah! I knew your name sounded familiar. I couldn't for the life of me remember why, though! This had been my very favorite picture for quite some time. . . |
Elf -- I've always loved that picture. I've purchased some of Stephanie's other fox-related art (which seems to have run its production limit). Absolutely beautiful stuff!
